Digital Strategy for SkyCity Entertainment
INTRODUCTION
Key executives at SKYCITY Entertainment Group identified a requirement for external consultancy to advise them on the steps needed to improve the quality of digital outputs delivered across the business.
THE CHALLENGE
To deliver a consultancy framework (reporting to the CIO) that quickly and efficiently: defined the scope, structured the problem, gathered and analysed the appropriate information/data, and developed specific, actionable recommendations. The scope of recommendations needed to cover the entire SKYCITY Entertainment Group digital ecosystem including; processes to deliver and manage digital projects and products, the people and resourcing needs, and the digital products that the business should be delivering to consumers and employees.
IMPACT
Due to commercial confidentiality specific details of the recommendations can not be shared but the scope of the final delivery package included:
Presentation to the SKYCITY Entertainment Group CEO and his senior executive team detailing the legacy issues and gaps
Report detailing the business case for digital transformation including 31 costed recommendations covering strategy, resourcing, business processes, vendor collaboration and a roadmap for the delivery and consolidation of "owned" digital touchpoints
Report reviewing the current digital technical platform with recommendations for alternatives following investigation of market leading web experience products (Adobe Cloud, Sitecore, HP Teamsite etc.)
Benchmarking competing SKYCITY Entertainment Group's digital ecosystem with leading US and global gaming companies
Delivering a usability testing document defining a process to facilitate low cost, quick turnaround in-house user testing and analysis
Delivering of scoping documentation (including costs and timings) for multiple digital projects
In December 2014 SKYCITY Entertainment Group started rolling out a number of the key recommendations.
