Digital Consultancy for NZTE

INTRODUCTION

New Zealand Trade and Enterprise (NZTE) is New Zealand's economic development and trade promotion agency. It offers strategic advice, access to networks and influencers, research and market intelligence, and targeted support to help businesses on their international journey, and works to promote and support the growth of New Zealand business overseas.

THE CHALLENGE

The NZTE Marketing Team needed specialist consultancy support to initiate a project to replace their key customer facing digital property www.NZTE.govt.nz including UX/UI design, content, CMS and technical platform. My role was to work with the project sponsors, key internal stakeholders and subject matter experts in relevant NZTE teams to author the initial project initiation documentation (budget, timings, scope, initial requirements analysis etc.), manage the formal process through the Government Electronic Tenders Service (GETS) to select a digital agency and then onboard the agency and kick off the project before handover to an NZTE project manager.

IMPACT

  • Worked with the project sponsor and internal stakeholders to put together and get sign off for the startup project documentation covering; scope, timings, budget, governance, risks and issues 

  • Worked with internal stakeholders, NZTE subject matter experts (SME's) and interrogated existing research, analytics and workshop outputs to put together detail strategic and briefing documentation to support

  • Managed the vendor relationship to produce key outputs (to close insights gaps) in the Discovery Phase including; NZTE Audience SWOT analysis, Audience Intent Analysis and a Content Audit across the existing website

  • Managed the formal GETS process, including aligning with legal and compliance requirements, authoring and posting briefing documentation, responding to enquiries, and then working with the NZTE project team to whittle the formal applicants down from 14 to a shortlist of 4 agencies

  • Managed the final process of agency presentations and internal evaluation to choose and then onboard the selected agency

  • Delivered general consultancy support and advice during the Discovery Phase focusing on; content strategy, personalisation, technology selection, delivery process and feedback on agency deliverables
