Agile Delivery for MyLotto for Colenso BBDO
INTRODUCTION
Lotto New Zealand is a crown entity that operates nationwide lotteries in New Zealand. Each year, Lotto NZ transfers 100% of profits to the NZ Lottery Grants Board, providing essential funding to 3,000 community groups and organisations around the country every year. Since Lotto NZ started, more than over $3 billion in funding has been returned to Kiwi communities. Since launching online via MyLotto usage has swelled to over 70, 000 registered users.
THE CHALLENGE
To redesign and re-platform (delivering a new content management system) the MyLotto website and deliver new MyLotto apps for Android and iOS devices.
IMPACT
Taking a "mobile first" design approach and working closely with internal stakeholders and Lotto business representatives our 5 person UX/UI team were able to deliver a flexible user interface for the MyLotto website balancing the need for an on brand engaging digital experience with the requirement for a simple, highly accessible user experience.
As well as the MyLotto website our multi disciplinary (UX, dev, QA, and copywriting) agile team were able to design the first fully feature MyLotto native apps for Android and iOS allowing registered Lotto users to create and manage their MyLotto account, buy Lotto, Powerball and Strike tickets, check Lotto results, watch a virtual draw for tickets bought online and scan paper tickets.
Our dev team built an extensive feature rich content management system in PHP, reflecting Lotto's complex business rules and allowing business users to easily and safely manage and update content.
