INTRODUCTION
Arts Council England is the national development agency for the arts, dedicated to promoting the performing, visual and literary arts in England, distributing public money from the Government and the UK National Lottery.
THE CHALLENGE
Project Management for the full lifecycle of the UK£ 240,00 redesign and redevelopment of the lead website for the Arts Council and delivering against the brief:
Create an online presence to promote and showcase the arts, offering spaces for shared critical and creative activity, encouraging a mass online audience to explore, sample and share
Show excellent design, use flexible and scalable technology, and test new ways of interacting with audiences
Shift brand perceptions: "more arts, less council"
IMPACT
Successfully delivered on time and within budget, the new site successfully implemented:
Presentation of a brand that is modern, inclusive and focused on the Arts Council as an enabler of Arts in England
High level of usability supported by high standards of accessibility
Content supporting user journeys for the key audience targets - engaged arts consumer and prospective recipients of Arts Council support (funding or otherwise)
Integration with social channels (Facebook and Twitter)
Functionality and content to guide users to submit applications for funding
